A developer with a theatre actor’s heart

I grew up in Kolkata, discovered theatre in the mid-90s, and spent 6–7 serious years on stage – performing, rehearsing, learning to listen and respond from the inside out. Later, I joined IPTA in Mumbai and moved from a one-line role to the second lead in the same play within three months.

Parallel to that, I’ve built a long career in technology – from early days of .NET and enterprise systems to modern fullstack work with Next.js, TypeScript, FastAPI, and AI-enabled applications. I’ve worked in banks, startups, training companies, and as a freelancer.

Today, I combine these worlds: building software and tools, helping organisations ship real products, and mentoring performers who want to approach their craft and careers with more structure, clarity, and honesty.

From my theatre journey

I started with a single line on stage and quickly grew to carry major roles. I’ve experienced the struggle of Mumbai, the intensity of rehearsal rooms, and the gap between passion and opportunity. Acting Lab is my way of being the elder brother I wish I had during those years.

Theatre has given me some of the most intense, alive moments of my life. The plan is to build a space where I share honest reviews of plays, reflections on process, and resources for practitioners who care about the craft.

Over time, this may grow into:

• Conversations with directors, actors and writers
• Resources connecting theatre and training/learning
• Digital tools and platforms for theatre groups
